What did happen to Lars after the Golem War? It appears that fusing him with the Dragon Knight was only a temporary spell, and once it broke, Lars was forced to reside in the form of a baby dragon as punishment for borrowing the power. The Dragon Knight's purpose was to defeat Anthra-Sax, not Dark Schneider. Lars spent the next seventeen years in the form of a baby dragon. While trapped in this form, Lars had been looking for a successor to become the next Dragon Knight.
The manga starts off fifteen years after the Golem War, when Dark Schneider is reborn. During those untold fifteen years, each of Dark Schneider's Shitennou (Arshes, Gara, Kall-Su, and Abigail) had been working to continue his dream of one day conquering the world. Abigail spent his time trying to revive Anthra-Sax while the others each gained their own following. Slowly but surely, they all rejoin DS. The first to rejoin him is Ninja Master Gara. This is where Lars makes his first appearance.
It is never said why or how he got there, but Lars is treated as Gara's pet. After DS's battle with Gara, ending in DS's victory, Gara rejoins DS's side once again. On DS's way toward a neighboring village, Lars speaks with DS for the first time in fifteen years since the war. DS realizes right away who the dragon pup really is, and surprisingly, the two former rivals become partners in their travels.
During their journeys together, Lars meets new friends and enemies of DS's: Sean, Kai, Di-Amon . . . Even Arshes, Kall-Su, and Abigail. But most astonishing would have to be encountering Lars' sister, Sheela, who has fallen in love with DS, much to his dismay!
Lars travels around with DS, staying at Meta-Rikana around his friends, all of whom are clueless as to the fact that he's Prince Lars. Even two years later when Lars is reborn into his human form, the others remain in the dark about the mysterious connection between Lars the dragon pup and the Prince. However, before that occurs, a huge battle breaks out between DS and Abigail which results in several catastrophes! Meta-Rikana is destroyed as a result of their battle. Abigail is killed. DS is nearly killed himself, only to find that during the whole fiasco, Yoko was the one to die. DS uses the last of his life force to revive Yoko, which forces him to reside within Rushe Ren Ren for the next two years in order to heal. Since Meta-Rikana was destroyed, Yoko and the others went to the neighboring kingdom of Iron Maiden to stay. They are welcomed with open arms and quickly become friends with the samurai residing there.
Two years later, Kall-Su is attempting to revive Anthra-Sax, the God of Destruction. He and Abigail have found and broken three of the four seals keeping the demon under wraps—the fourth seal resides within Lars' sister, Sheela! Sheela is taken to a floating city called King Crimson Glory so that she can be as far away from Kall-Su's reach as possible. However, regardless of their efforts to protect Sheela and keep Kall-Su from reviving Anthra-Sax, Kall-Su finds her and attempts to break the seal. DS shows up (after his two year absence) with Lars and takes Kall-Su to the sky to fight. During their ongoing battle, the seal within Sheela breaks! Anthra-Sax is freed and Princess Sheela is killed! Luckily, Geo and Sean show up at King Crimson Glory and find her. With aid of his healing powers, Geo manages to revive Sheela. Just as the four are heading elsewhere on the floating city, DS has defeated Kall-Su! Now with Kall-Su back on his side, it is DS's turn to fight Anthra-Sax. But just as DS is ready to go into battle, the Ten Wise Men of Europea try to revive the legendary Dragon Knight using DS as a catalyst. Of course, DS refuses to be their puppet and breaks free of their control. During the debacle, Antha-Sax has found and destroyed the Dragon Knight! As a result, the curse upon Lars is broken and he is reborn into his original human form!
As DS battles Anthra-Sax, all anyone can do is watch. With time and much struggle, DS finally manages to defeat Anthra-Sax—but at the cost of his own life! DS is pulled into Hell just as God unleashes His angels on Earth with the intent to destroy humanity! With DS in limbo, it's up to Lars, Yoko, and Kall-Su's remaining generals to fend off the angels that plague Earth and threaten humanity's very survival! At the same time, they are fighting to protect King Crimson Glory in hopes of reviving DS!
Despite their best efforts, everyone eventually falls in battle, overpowered by the sheer strength and number of the angels . . .
In Hell, DS bargains with Satan and begins a series of epic battles against Porno Diano, The Devil, and even Seraph Uriel himself! While things get heated between DS and his enemies, Lars and the fallen warriors are revived through means of the Messiah's miracle. Now living in a city of dwarves, elves, and hobbits, Lars must convince them to trust "Elijah" (Kall-Su) . . .
